Hey, I have a question in regards to the co-op hiring program via Keyano college. I heard when you hire students the Co-op program that they are only employed for anywhere between 3-20 months. After that there are still no guarantees that you take on the students as HEO'S even though they do an awesome job, and that they have to go get jobs elsewhere as they don't have nearly the experience as someone who has moved up within the company? I mean it's a really expensive program, and if that is the case I rather look into something else. Thanks :-)

Do you guys hire graduates from the Keyano College "Heavy Hauler Coop" program? And if so how regularly? I just want to insure work after school because Keyano College claims to guarantee job placement with you and three other employers and i'm not sure whether to trust them or not and if it's true what are the chances of working for you guys?

At Suncor we have a policy to hire locally first, only when we cannot find qualified candidates locally do we start looking further, first across Canada and then internationally if we have to. At this time we are not recruiting internationally for candidates but it might be a good time for you to check out the Government of Canada website that outlines how to immigrate to Canada for work: cic .gc. ca /english /work/
