On March 12, 2011 Wisconsin farmers stage a huge tractor rally around the state capitol in solidarity of workers' rights. This rally is in support of the common man ... and woman....and a protest to the illegal tactics of Wisconsin Republicans who continue to pass legislation without the presence of 14 Democratic senators. Crowds of more than 85,000 people came to the capitol along with 50 tractors......On Wisconsin!

sorry i meant to respond to @malumalumalu

@dct4lif I agree with you 100% You may have me confused with someone else :) I am for labor and NOT big corporations.
-
@TheMasterTate And that's what you get from Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes at the controls.
-
@dct4lif It just goes to show that 25+ years of right wing propaganda has succeeded on a significant percentage of young people, who have no idea of how the media used to be. Not only that, but the dominant media DOESN'T EVEN REPORT on political movements that do not favor the right wing. The Wisconsin protests wouldn't have seen the light of day if people like MSNBC's Ed Schultz hadn't focused attention on it. The Wisconsin situation is just one example of several states right now.

@bodryn besides whats happening in WI, isnt it scary to see people like the tea party marching in the streets in support of tax cuts for millionairs and billionairs as if they belong on that tax bracket. Since when do the poor or middle class march and protest for the welfare of the rich. when Buffet says he pays less taxes than his secretary i would expect an outcry, Instead we have people like walker pushing 4 even more tax beaks then complain about deficits. Have we become that stupid ?
-
@dct4lif Exactly!
-
When huge corporations like Exxon, Bank of America and Wells Fargo make record profits yet pay no taxes because of offshore accounts, it is THEY who ought to sacrifice first, for a change! America's basic way of life is at stake!

@newave123456 That is nothing to be proud of. The US economy is 70% consumption based. That is a highly flawed system. People keep talking about promoting consumption to boost the economy but that is the last thing the US should do. This US consumption has been fueled by debt/credit...not real wealth. It's fake to a great extent. If American's had to rely on real savings/money (as opposed to credit) to consume, the US would not be nearly as big a consumer of goods as it currently is.
-
@malumalumalu Unless we are going into the energy business as a nation, your point is not valid. America is the biggest importer non essential goods.
-
@newave123456 The global demand is now being driven by 'third world' countries. China has now overtaken the US on many different consumption metrics including biggest energy consumer. The consumption is overseas. The debt binge that has driven 'fake' american consumption will no longer be a viable system for the US. America's mega credit card has been maxed out. American businesses are running after Asian customers in search of consumers for their goods, more and more
-
@malumalumalu Capital has fled due to greed. Most of the products made overdue is being shipped back into the US. Have you ever asked yourself why? Maybe because americans had jobs and could afford to buy the crap. Third world countries who now have our jobs still cannot afford this stuff. Demand economics not supply side.
-
@newave123456 Believe me my friend, I am part of the revolution. But lower taxes has always promoted business.Higher taxes is part of the reason why the manufacturing base in the US has eroded and why capital has fled overseas to Asia/Latin America. Why would a business want to set up shop in a high tax rate environment? Exporting more than one imports is key but that does not happen through taxing domestic businesses to death. We live in a globalized world and today capital is mobile.
-
@malumalumalu That is exactly how we became great. We used to export more than we imported. We had a strong manufacturing base. What do we have now? Check the facts my friend. Supply side economics never worked. Join the revolution.
-
@malumalumalu You are right. No more kickin the can. Its time to kick the banksters who started this in the first place. Do you agree?
-
sorry american people. The way out is going to involve a lot of pain. There is no free lunch. The country has enjoyed a 30 year credit + debt driven boom and now it's time for the bust. Someone has to pay and it's going to be the american people. The financial banksters should have suffered and shouldered the burden but the US govt decided to let them get away and let the inncocent american middle class take the brunt of the bust. The US cannnot kick the can down the road anymore.
-
@bestwayusa1 this sounds like communism to me. Remember tarriffs and economic insularity has never made a country great. It has always destroyed not improved. What appears good on the surface always has unintended consequences.
-
How about a national strike of supporting farmers. Hit the right wing where it hurts - in their fat cat bellies.
-
I have the solution! Lets print money and trade it for poor people resources globally! We can build guns and bombs to make them comply! We will be rich!? Until they wipe us out.
