ECU Engineering students benefit from programs specifically designed for the needs to Australian and Western Australian industry that cover the engineering sciences with rigour and also have a strong emphasis on 'hands on', practical learning experiences. Courses are offered across a wide range of engineering disciplines including chemical, civil, mechanical, electrical power, mechatronics, automation & control, electronics & communications, computer systems, maritime, maintenance, and aeoronautics. The School also offers Motorsports courses. ECU's Formula SAE Team achieved second place overall in Australasia in 2012. In 2013, ECU's Formula SAE ranked 22nd in the world (out of 550 university teams). All Engineering disciplines offered at ECU are supported by a wide range of modern industry grade facilities, including engineering laboratories.
