http://richardstep.com/video-tools/youtube/ There are many kinds of engineers, one of which is electrical engineers. How is electrical engineering different from other disciplines? How is it different from non-engineering disciplines? To improve one's career as an electrical engineer, one might seek additional certifications or membership in a relevant professional society. Being able to cite large projects one has worked on is helpful. The more experience you have with electrical engineering, the better. Electrical engineers design and build electrical circuitry. This may include things like designing electronic instruments. One usually gains qualification as an electrical engineer by completing a degree. ~~~~~~~~~~ When you're looking for more personal, career, or business development tools, tricks, tips, tests, and resources, come to RichardStep.com. As a swiss, I have to disagree with the train thing. XP

Whoa, is that HEB Bay Colony?

Thanks for the thoughts you have shared here.

I'm 25 and I am majoring in computer programming, but I am taking high voltage classes to gain electrician skills. I have found that I like electricity and I'm interested in getting that degree (EE). My local community colleges is one of the better ones in the country and they have a good electrical engineering program. Do you think with a associates in software development, electrician skills, and an associates and Electronic Engineering Tech that I would be able to find a job? I can't really afford a four year school.

How much money u make

I`m 45 years old and for the past 20 tears I`ve been in the HVAC trade. I just registered for for classes in the fall and have declared electrical engineering as my major.( I will be a sophomore because I`m transferring 30 credits from some years ago). My hope is to either get a job designing hvac electrical components or my dream job would be working on anything related to aviation i.e. radar, avionics systems, satellites etc. I know my age will be a barrier butt I`ve seen guys my age become lawyers, doctors, dentists, teachers, so why no an engineer?

I graduated an electrician program and took a PLC course. I actually liked that field because its kind of like coding..what options engineering wise should I look at if I wanna go further. Or even just to land a job doing PLCS momentarily til I go back to school. I also like Electronics and would like to see that aspect thanks in advance

I'm currently in tech school to become a Electrican but my goal is to be a electrical engineer. I'm 30ish at the moment and I feel it might be to late to pursue this goal. I just don't want to get my hopes up or am I just over thinking?
-
how do you choose the path ? while I'm school in or by the job you choose after you graduate
-
I always wanted to do hands-on work, but engineering is mostly desk work from what I've collected. Contemplating becoming a technician instead.

People think EEs drive trains? what?

Richard M Stephenson, Is this very hard degree to get? I'm not much of a problem solver and while grasp things easily, I'm not big on homework. But I'm fascinated with electrical theory/motors, etc.. I've already got an associates in applied science (process technology) and Louisiana Tech says I can start their electrical engineering program as a junior but frankly I'm scared and really intimidated by the curriculum. I'm worried I don't have (not the brains) but the discipline and patience to go through with it. How was the curriculum for you? Did you ever want to give up?
-
what do you get asked in a job interview of that job tittle?
-
Shitty video but amazing info. Thanks man.

Hey Richard, i graduated with a Bachelor's in EE in 2004... i couldn't go into it right away for personal reasons and dealing with family issues... My brother told me after a couple years out of school that I would never find a job since I've been out of school and havent worked... I always looked up to my brother so I mistakenly listened to him...I live in Los Angeles and have sent out endless resumes online thru indeed and monster ... I have pretty much no experience right now but i've worked various other jobs since that time... what do you think is the best way to get my foot in the door somewhere as an engineer? (possibly electrical) THANKS!

I wanted to ask if EE is the field to go into to focus on magnets, I have several ideas for them but I can't decide electrical or mechanical

Blake go for the EE degree alot of old men in my class doing enginering and the doing well
