If you were in Canada, you could me give a call, I can inspect any kind of machinery and prevent these things to a high percentage. What I see as technician every day is quite disheartening. A lot of equipment is neglected for much too long :(

Could be worse. Could be OFF!

How many said "you know".
I don't know. kk -
That's pretty bad. But it can be fixed. Don't need more than 7018...don't give a rats ass what anybody else says. Heavy Equipment Repair is something that came with my years in trucking. I been in the soil & aggregates industry for over 20 years.I seen all kinds of cracking...we working in a lotta rock here in the Islands. Your cracks got way ahead of you, but they can be fixed. The welder definitely needs to do some "fishplating" near that hinge point cause those cracks are bad & that is a high stress point...,but like I said it can be fixed with 7018 from 1/8" to 7/32 & 3/8" plate... Good luck!!!

If my excavator machine bucket is trying to work and the engine slow down I don't know how to fix it please if you can help me email me castroyinbil@gmail.com
-
you would have thought you would notice these cracks, just going to grease the bucket and what not, it sounds like they have prob been there for awhile
-
I just farted really loud and with a lot of air moved. The stink is thick but on the mild side.
-
Carbon arc to gouge eh. That's rad.
-
Ok,its still digging everyday 3000 hrs later
-
Done wrong!
-
I would have taken the bucket off to get a better weld
-
my mistake then!! i though he was welding right away '°O(wtf he's a pro is he mocking his client or what!!)
-
he didnt weld in the video he was gouging with carbon air arc, so nothings wrong. ;)
-
i'm not welder and i can see its wrong in a lot of ways (no grinding, still bent, extra plate?) if i had the day i would have removed the bucket cut throw visible the crack then grinding welding plus fishplate
-
where is the second video Skadill. Would like to see the finished repair.
-
it will never break again if it's done right and thats an easy fix. I welded a main boom at the base and towards the cab window and fishplated it. Never broke again.
-
this is wrong and it will brake again waste of time and money -

@pmonsta60... Yes, BEFORE is what I meant. Maybe I didn't clarify that initially. Drilling at the end before the v-grove and welding is utmost important. I don't know if I agree with fish plating. Although, a fish plate won't hurt, but its not necessary if a proper drill and V-groove is accomplished. Also, preheat is a must.

Hey Colt , you just gave 'em some good sound advice bro , you and heartobefelt . I think he thought you meant you had to drill the hole in front of the crack but you meant before the repair process . I love seeing people that know their stuff on Youtube !
