Craig VK3CRG operating portable 100 watt portable HF Amateur Radio from Eastern Park in the City of Geelong, Victoria, Australia on a beautiful Autumn afternoon overlooking Corio Bay. Radio is an Icom IC-7000, Antenna is a Buddipole Deluxe set up as a dipole set to 40m. I'm also using my voltage "Super Booster" for the first time in the field with great success. If you're interested in what the "Super Booster" does, please see my YouTube video on the subject. Thanks to the following Amateur Operators for a great afternoon in the park chatting around Australia. VK3STV, VK5PAS, VK2MDC, VK3HQ, VK3PGK, VK3FABA, VK2HAV, VK2NNN and VK3NAD.

great video vkcrg. I'm wanting to get into amateur radio and don't know what to rig and antenna to get. I'm in Australia and hear heaps of people talking about amateur radio and am wanting to get into it. I really don't want to get a big antenna but a small antenna would be great. cheers and 73

Looks like you had a great day Craig. Did you have to use the LDG ATU very much. I have the Buddistick and I know you have to either retap the coil if you qsy more than 50kHz up or down. It's been awhile since your last portable video. You should do a video from that mountain you zoomed into early in the video, it certainly looked tempting.

Great video Craig, weird to hear my own voice on someone else's radio. Graeme, VK3PGK.

Terrific video Craig. It's always very interesting to hear what you sound like at the other end. Your set up is great. I also have a Buddipole, but its a bit too heavy for the SOTA work, so I use a SOTA Beams BandHopper 40m/20m linked dipole on my 7m squid pole. Thanks for taking the time to do a bit of videoing ! All the best Craig, Paul, VK5PAS.

Good lord, such a clean signal with very little noise. 40m has been rather noisy lately here in Newport, western suburbs of Melbourne, more so than 80m. Looks like you're in a prime location. Nice work! Have fun! Emil - VK3NAF
