I was there that day and took some pictures from the other side of the berm after the all clear. Dickie Donnelly - we talked at Taji about that time. A friend of mine was going to buy car and I went with him to help him out. Sorry, but he decided against it. We had the discussion on sales tax. Turns out that our state passed a law allowing returning veterans a one-time purchase of a car and given an exemption for paying the sales tax. I guess he should have bought the car!

I was an irish contractor I worked for the car sales office near the px I remember that eve if I'm not mistaken the firetrucks on taji were not allowed out to help and they were throwing hoses over the walls my hooch was very near that end of the base near the victory loop

I was in guard tower Alpha 06 at Castle Gate.

I was at Taji 2005-2006. During training in Kuwait, the trainers showed us this exact video. Plus, it was also shown to us during stateside training....

I remember going past taji one time, going to biap, saw those speed bump IEDs....they didnt go off, lots of convoys before had already ran over them
on the way back we called EOD
as we were stopped, I looked up and saw a guard tower, I hollered up to the guys in it...took about 5 minutes for them to answer......they were asleep
I asked them if they saw who put the IEDs there...........their answer, what IEDs
the problem sometimes was our own soldiers being too complicit and not caring -
One of my drill sergeants was on that convoy when the explosion hit. He made it. So for those of you saying no one made it, you're wrong.

holy crap, i remember that, i was near the flight line flying a radio controled helicopter, i felt it in my chest and saw the smoke plume

The only Coalition unit even remotely close by were Apache White 1-7 Cav just below Taji Bridge on MSR Tampa. That was the IA. Brian Spalding, your living quarters was way more than a 1/4 mile away. No one lived on Taji near gunners gate, they were all on the other side by the DFAC and if you say you were on a MiTT then you were back by the river. Iraqis died that day.

I was about to roll out in my fuelar when that hit.

Strykers are shit. I watched a Stryker T-bone a Bradley. The Stryker was running black-out-drive over 40mph, like they always did down Tampa. The Bradley was pulling out onto Tampa returning to Taji. The Bradley crew was nice enough to tow the Stryker back to Camp Taji. Poor little Stryker was crippled and the Bradley had to replace some armor and minor things.

The people across the street died. I seen what was left. The burning trucks and bodies. The people lived that were in convoy.

No Americans in this video. Go troll somewhere else.

My husband was there then so ya stfu and think before comment

Dennis, OBVIOUSLY the bubble tactic was not employed here. Yes, some did travel that way but some didn't. Earlier most did. Private Military Company three tours, 32 months in country. Many IEDs witnessed. Sometimes it was just speed and unpredictable driving that saved us, other times, dumb luck.

hey man, those are iraqi trucks, I was there in 2007 and we still travelled in a bubble. Make sure before you comment you know what your talking about.
