Both Gorlovka and Besarabka came under fire on Wednesday evening with shells landing close to the centre of both areas. Local militia destroyed a bridge connecting Gorlovka with the neighbouring Besarabka district in a bid to stall the advance of the army. Gorlovka is currently without communications, transportation or power, but no casualties have yet been reported. The US was indebted to France after the American Revolution. They got out of paying what they owed after the French Revolution by claiming that the agreements were made with the King of France and that they were in no way indebted to the regime that overthrew the old government. Using this logic, Russia is no longer bound by a treaty made with a government in Ukraine which no longer exists. All of this fighting could be over in a day if they simply annex the Russian speaking provinces of East Ukraine like they have already done with Crimea. This may not help with Russian relations in the west, but those relations are all but dead anyway, and such a move would bring swift stability to the region, end the conflict, and probably save thousands of lives.
