Machines | Type 99 Arisaka Run and Gun
videos | at work | information | view | construction
The Arisaka Type 99 rifle in 7.7 Japanese was distributed to the Imperial Japanese forces during World War II, but it never quite phased out the old Type 38 rifle in 6.5 caliber. This light, short rifle is equipped with a number of odd features that are sure to raise an eyebrow or two at the range, but how does this strange Japanese rifle shoot? Well, lets see it on the run and gun course! You didnt shout Banzai after every shot. The rifle's guardian Samurai spirit evidently disapproved.
-
shout tenno heika banzai, throw out damn useless ammo and charge with ur gun with bayonet and ask us troops to kill you. that how japanese troops were like inpacific war.
-
it sounds weird when you clock it?

Actually, the Ariska is even more user friendly than the Mauser if you have some feeding malfunctions: all you need to do is depress the magazine floor plate catch. The floor plate will come off, the magazine will empty, and your issues will be so easy to fix. In a future video, I plan to highlight that the Mosin Nagant has a similar feature. Although I am a Mauser gourmet (I have so many Mausers in my collection, I can't think of an exact number off hand (18 would be my first guess)), I would never call the Mosin Nagant a "garbage rod". I plan to cover why in some future video.

Japan did a good job designing guns considering it didn't have the gun-designing tradition of America or Europe. Really, there were only 70 years between WWII Japan and the Japan of samurai.
-
So how does it hold let's say against a Kar98K, a M1903 and a Mosin Nagant?
-
is it compatible with brittish 303
-
Japanese weapons weren't known for their quality.

Hey man. Awesome job. When you had that one malfunction though, pretend you're IN combat and clear it and get back to it. Yeah it might look like you're first time with a naked woman as you fiddle fuck it back into working order, but it's important. You definitely finished strong though and we're getting crazy flick fast on running the action and reloads. Also, diagnose what maybe YOU did wrong that could cause the jam. I know we come from the world of semi autos and reliability but that doesn't mean we can't get better with older technology. You laid down a surprisingly fast rate of fire when on your last run though. Good work.
-
You didn't run very much.

junk

Crap gun...

I like the sound of the dust cover on the Arisaka. To be honest, it makes it sound a lot more like an actual rifle than with other bolt actions. Other bolts kinda sound plasticy
-
I dont know about you guys, but i actually really like the sound of rattling steel whenever that action moves. I find it really badass sounding.
