THREE people were trapped for more than an hour after a truck crash in Sydney’s west. Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Ambulance were called Carter Street in Lidcombe about 9.30 after reports a hatchback struck a white pantech truck which then rolled and collided with three parked cars. The male driver of the car was released and taken to hospital in a stable condition. Three people were trapped in the truck for almost an hour. The 26-year-old male driver and a 22-year-old female passenger in the truck suffered serious leg injuries and were taken to Westmead Hospital. A second passenger in the truck was also taken to hospital in a stable condition. Crews worked for some time to extract the remaining two occupants through the smashed windscreens. One of the rescue crew was photograped holding the hand of one of the victims and comforting him through the ordeal. Meanwhile a slavage operation took place after a b-double truck rolled at Port Botany. Bumborah Rd is closed northbound. Southbound vehicles on the road are using the shoulder to bypass the accident.
