Two dramatic cell phone videos of the incident at Crawford Road and Highway 377 show the engineer sounding the train's horn before smashing into a flatbed trailer hauling construction equipment. The crossing gates were down and lights were flashing at the moment of impact. Argyle police Chief William Tackett said the 18-wheeler had turned left from Highway 377 to travel westbound on Crawford when the bottom of the trailer, which was carrying a backhoe, got hung up on the crown of the crossing. Tackett said the truck driver was able to escape before the train hit at around 6 o'clock. In one video clip, a man can be seen running from the front of the trailer seconds before impact. The video shows the trailer being dragged for about 75 feet before it was pushed off the tracks. The chief added that one member of the train's crew was being checked out after complaining of back pain. Argyle is located 7 miles southwest of Denton. _________________________________________________________ (Video posted strictly for educational and informational purposes) Police Center in your source for police related news and events.
