My dad had a D4 that he used to start by rolling down a hill. Propped the blade up with a block of wood - started every time.

My father had, I think, a D4. This was early 60's. It was all hydraulic. When did they change? Remember when pony motor when out He gave it a little bump start with the track hoe :<).

lets see todays "operators" spend 8-10 hrs running the clutches and brakes of this equipment and see how long they last!
