Machines | Time Line of the IH Cub Cadet
videos | at work | information | view | construction
This is a time line of the greatest garden tractor made. For the most part the engine was Kohler. The first two numbers in the model number are the horse power. Example: 86, the horse power is 8. This does not include the red cub cadets. NOTE: I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THESE PICTURES, I AM JUST MAKING THIS TO SHOW THAT ALL THE OLD TRACTORS WERE THE BEST. Nice leaving out the 182, 282, and 382 models. I was showing this to my little boy because he has one, and he was really disappointed that his wasn't a part of it.

Thanks for the video I was wondering what year the Red Cubs came out. Very good information.
-
ALL IH Cubs were shaft driven except the 76 and 1100.

Thought I would chime in and say that I own a 682 and the Kohler is dated 1979, the IH tag is dated 1979, and the Cub Cadet tag is stamped 1979. So the 'Red' Model was built from 79'-81'. You can spot a 79' and 80' model because they have a Kohler KT17 series 1 which was a splash lubricated engine. No oil filter
