Machines | Throttle Body - Explained

How does a throttle body work? What is a throttle body? A throttle body is a butterfly valve located between the air intake filter and the intake manifold. It regulates how much air can go into the engine, based on driver input through the gas pedal. As more air flows into the engine, it injects more fuel, thus allowing for more power. Throttle bodies today are mostly electronically controlled, where this throttle body is mechanical. It includes input for TPS and MAP sensors, as well as routing for the IAC valve, and a idle adjustment screw. Thank you! Not car savvy and your explanation helped me understand! I appreciate it!

Is the butterfly plate needed on the throttle body??? Silly question to ask but, I have a vehicle with the ETC electronic throttle control and the reason I ask is because, the electronic chip I believe has gone bad and now my butterfly plate barely opens. I was wondering, can I just remove the butterfly plate to allow more air into the engine or that's a bad idea??? What's the reason for the butterfly plate anyway??? I already cleaned my throttle body but found out, I have a bad electronic chip or whatever you may call it.

does the throttle body have anything to do with starting the car up I have a 2007 Yukon Denali I already changed the battery I already changed the alternator and some days the car starts up perfectly fine others it has hesitates to start up and I did a lot of reviews of the GM SUVs 2007 and up have a throttle body problem that's why I asked

what does it mean if there's a rattling sound coming from the throttle body? can the throttle body be associated with rough cold starts? my mechanic originally said it was from carbon build up but when we looked that wasn't an issue.

does engine stop its cycle while no throttle? ie, no suction, no power, no exhaust
-
what's the reason to add one of these to every cylinder? like the ITB. The airflow is cleaner?
-
Why wouldn't you want to heat the air up before going into the combustion process. Hot air mixing with gas and exploding to 300F+ seems better than cold air. More conversion of the gas i'd suspect and less unburned fuel

can you do a video on itbs

How would you clean a throttle body?
-
thanks you very much
I want to ask you about is the throttle valve should be full closed at idle speed or not? -
Great Video Bro just want to know for my 6.1l SRT8 the performance throttle body like 450.00 bucks is it really worth buying??
-
great video
-
what about individual throtle bodies?

Thanks for the info. I took my 2009 Ford F-150 to Alexander Ford in Yuma Arizona for stalling problems and starting problems. I was assured that 99.9% of the problems were caused by the Throttle Body. Can you tell me if this is true or not? At $800.00 for repairs, I would like to know.

*watching 'What Is Engine Braking?'*
"...the throttle body is going to close..."

"...it's located between your air intake filter and piping and your intake manifold."

Im sorry, what I don't understand is that how a throttle changes the air going into a cylinder. the only way more air can be put into a cylinder is by using a turbo or supercharger. you cannot change the amount of air going into the engine because there is a set space in the cylinder ( cc ) and the amount of air displaced by the piston is always equal. Please correct me if i'm wrong or tell me the answer, its killing me.

Lol I cant find mine. 1996 Camaro RS with the 3.8.... aftermarket itake where the throttle body is supposed to be. Check out vid on my channel and please tell me

thank you helped so much!

So if you remove the screw = higher RPM range?

Big diameter on throttle body.. But same intake manifold .. How it works.?
