so where is the cocksutte 30 or 40, or the minniappolis- molline , ji case, or the massy-fergson,and the list goes on!
-
I had a 1947 Case VAC that was a wonderful machine, followed by a 1958 IH 340 that was okay, but unimpressive. I now have a 1964 Allis Chalmers D19 (gas) that I really, really like.
-
I was really surprised the Deere 4020 was number 1. I would have thought the International 1066 would have been there.

165 massey is one solid tractor!
-
realy not even the deutz d8006 the machine u can not break the thing u do not need to fix the tractor that wil work forever i think that this is a cinda messed up list and i never had luck with jhon deere sorry for my bad english but i dont think this is a good top 10 in my opinion

Massey is king

The Ford 8N was no where near 30HP. They have there purposes. I've traded on a lot of the N series tractors because there easy and cheap to make look nice and make money on, but they were weak in the knees compared to the Farmall H which showed to only be 28HP. If you want something that looks good to do small jobs any N series will fill the void. If you need real work done minus a 3 point hitch a Farmall H will make an 8N look bad. The TO20, and TO30 Ferguson looked and sized nearly identical to the N series had an over head valve engine that had lots more power but was still under powered for any real work. That all said I still like the old Fords and they set the standard with the 3 point hitch and they have taken abuse for the best part of one hundred years now.

All pretty solid. If you went by what guys owned and still swear by, then Ford 8N, Farmall H, Massey 35, Deere Model A, not necessarily in that order. Oliver66, also a Case, maybe an SC? Minnie-Mo model U.This is if you keep it American, lots of other good ones, especially in the UK (Fergies, etc.). JD 4020s were good units, but pretty big for your basic small family farmer. Just my .02.

The title is a bit misleading - maybe should be called The Top Ten Best American Tractors of all time...because if you want to talk about in the world, then the Grey Fergie 20 diesel is king (The similar looking Ford 9N was vastly inferior)...After that you'd have to include some Fords and Masseys
-
Not a single versatile or Steiger smh
-
one is brand new out of box engine ordered it brand new and spec sheet says from 24-27 hp so I guess they don't know what they talking about either NOBODY knows anything about tractor but you I'm guessing
-
For heavy tillage the 4020 no question but for PTO work the Massey Ferguson 135 165 175 tough to beat Not much for heavy tillage but they were the best PTO tractors ever.
-
I also own 2 8n ford tractors and have had one rebuilt and the other is all original and both have been on dyno and both only do around 27 hp so I don't think you do know what your talking about like I said you might want to do some more research.
-
So happy to she the 4020 at the top
-
I'm not sure I understand why the Massey Ferguson 135 didn't make this list ? Probably anyone who's ever farmed either owned one or knows someone who has. There are some defiantly some solid picks on this list though. Personal favorite is the Ford 10 series.
-
Where are the Fergies, where are the Masseys, where are the ford forces, where are the good old BRITISH tractors not just the American row crop tractors?
-
you might want to do some research on the 8n ford they don't have 30hp sorry
-
John deer is shit you fucking reatard new holland is real stuff
-
For a little later model tractor, I would have included the Case 930.
