If it was somewhere like India they'd let the poor people suffer with it's eyespore. Because its a holiday destination to make money they removed it. Simple.

Wow, why didnt they just patch the holes and pump out the water? Why put all that work into damaging it further, making new cutting machines...... It's a pre made floating functioning ship, it just has a hole in it. over a billion dollars only to send it to the scrap yard? Why did you bother making it float at all? It could have been cut up and tossed onto a barge. This is truly a documentary on extreme wastefulness.
How about all those personal possessions it? Did they let anyone have the things they own and already paid for? I bet they said "nope" stole all those peoples things, and destroyed them in a scrap yard. This is why I cant respect government. -

GG coulda just built a new ship and used this thing for salvage. I know their using the term 'salvage too'. I'm talking just use industrial welding tools and cut that thing to pieces. Get the steel back, melt it, try again.
