I'm starting my training for diesel mechanics early at a local technical college this year. I have a decent tool box at home and want to start filling it with the basic stuff but don't really know what to get. Any suggestions on tools that I should definitely have? I have a bunch of sockets and wrenches because the guy I was apprenticing with got all new tools and gave me all his old stuff.

That's a great deal you got. I just went to HDs site and they don't have this one anymore, but I am looking at the Milwaukee 60 inch set up, which works out better for me since as I'm upgrading my power tools I'm going to Milwaukee on everything.

i like that SMA sticker you have on your box!

mike I cannot tell you how many times that this happens to me I forget where I put a tool that i am looking for . and after I look for a while I give up and just buy it again then after I get it well guess what i find it . sometimes though it comes in handy to have two of the same tool I find. I am just starting out so I dont have a box yet that is one of my problems I have tools all over the place spread out there in boxes on top of each other and then I wonder why I cant find what im looking for.

I have that same DeWalt box, I ended up with it because the store I went to had another one I wanted on sale, it was 56" long by 24" deep, 14 drawers with a hardwood top, they didn't have anymore left just display, so I did a raincheck, put a down payment on it, but before I got out of the store, the manger come running after me saying they are discontinued, etc. so he gave me the sale price on this one, which ended up being $1300 Canadian, I thought it was a good deal. but I just didn't work out for me, being what 54" long it great but the drawers only open up to an inside depth of 15" and those 2 very bottom big drawers piss me off cause they only open half way. they are for the heavy stuff right, but if you can't fit it in the drawer because it doesn't open how does it work. I've had it for almost a year in my garage, and I've been looking for probably 6 months for something different. I don't know if I'm spoiled by my Snap On box at work that is huge, plus add on the lockers and side cabinets. I'm thinking this box would be fine for overflow, but not as a main box that you use primarily at home, not saying it won't work for everyone, just not me. found the one I was looking for at Napa, just a bottom cabinet, 75" long 24" deep with 15 drawers, one of them is the long deep one. only $1500 Canadian.

Great video looking for someone who had this box and how they filled it thanks for sharing

Great video. I enjoyed the ride. You'll have to let us know how that Dewalt holds up. I had that exact problem with my Craftsman stack and that's one of the reasons I went to my MB1080. Thanks for the video.

Thumbs up just for the comment about wobbly videos, it drives me nuts! You did a great job in the hand held section

Do you have a plasma cutter? That's a very nice tool.

This is by far the MOST EXPENSIVE TRADE ! Tools will suck your pocket dry. Also buying tools and no work is a big problem.

I found a great way to buy my big box. Every time the Snap On dealer showed up with a used box, I bought it. 5 or 6 boxes as big and bigger as your Snap On box. One week he came in with a pic of a repo box, a 3 bay. All the boxes I bought from him, total investment $2500. The 3 bay new, $12,500. priced at $6500 repo price. He gave me $4500. trade in on the used boxes I bought from him. Traded them in and $2500. cash. Total investment on a $12,500 box, $4500.

Looks like you've got yourself a solid unit there. You're going to be more influenced to buy more tools to fill it completely now (if you haven't already filled it)
