If iphone had done crypto right then this wouldn't be an issue, the other issue is most of this stuff is dated with respects to quantum computing. Current crypto is seriously lagging behind, it needs to be advanced far forward to really provide privacy against modern threats. RSA will be first to fall to quantum computers, then Elliptic curves, stuff needs to move NTRU and/or RWE-L for key exchanges, and to metamorphic enhanced block ciphers, and get off the NIST weakened curves.

Nobody will have the GOLDEN KEY but Apple, The FBI, The NSA, The CIA, Homeland Security, MI6, Bureau 121 and a handful of teenagers in the Ukraine ..... WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG???

Personal information may very well be a hot commodity for Intel agencies, social media & tech companies.. but not necessarily for hackers. You need to mention organized crime in your opening remarks.. not hackers!

Can I vote for one of these dudes for President?

Wow! What a great panel. It's fantastic to see all of these folks together onstage. Definitely worth the watch. Notice the R & A of RSA are here, as are Diffie & Hellman of the Diffie Hellman Protocol.. and of course Mr. Marlinspike, ostensibly of the Axolotl protocol (among other things)

Moxie Marlinspike - Chief Technology, OfficerWhisper Systems
