My dad could concur with the effects of the M2, he was in the Philippines in WWII and told me that wherever you hit someone with a 50 cal. round, they were in two pieces.

it is good to know the power of the m2 we were limited on its operation for it would shot through walls and kill locals.

We were doing fam fire on the back of the USS Anchorage when one of the .50 cal barrels got a little hot; long story short, I spun the barrel loose, it burned, and it almost went off the side of the ship! Thank God, and Chesty, four Marines on the deck leapt on top of the smoldering hot barrel and stopped it from rolling off
