Here we have a line following robot guided autonomously with metal detection on the front of the vehicle and is turned on and off via a TV remote. The long wheel based car navigates the outdoor course pretty well considering the course was designed primarily for tanks.

just need a car with a tighter turning radius. also need to look ahead and anticipate turns far before they actually come. have it learn the course and adjust speed to run through it faster the 2nd and 3rd time let it know tire rotation (speed) abs brake sensor type system would let it know which wheels are slipping and be able to adjust speed so as not to veer off course good job. so many possibilities with this.

oh ya and you will find very quickly how simple things are taken for granted...this simple line following robot will take you at least 16 weeks to complete if you know what youre doing....

@razorflown2 those autonomous flying robots that are being built at MIT are being built by graduate students....There are 5 project labs in the undergraduate program at tech this is merely the first lab project for people new to it....you must build simple things to be able to understand more complex topology. Techs graduate program is mostly funded by Pulse Power Customers and pulse power customers are typically the government so you wont see many graduate projects

@razorflown2 ok so youre still in high school clearly....you will learn quickly that you dont just start your electrical engineering classes and immediately start building autonomous flying machines because if you could do this you don't need to be in school go work for ratheon....Seeing as how you ARE still in high school you will start your classes and realize how you know absolutely nothing about designing anything. You think a 24 hour clock is pretty simple? Go build it then come talk to me

Now I know why TTU students drive the way they do.

ya its cute......for an rc car....to bad it couldnt handle the track like our TANK!!
