Machines | Tesla Vehicle Engineering - Part 2
videos | at work | information | view | construction
Tesla's Vice President of Vehicle Engineering, Peter Rawlinson, talks about some of the features of Model S engineering at Tesla headquarters. He discusses the advantages of designing a car from the ground using Tesla's proven electric powertrain, and how the result will be a drive experience to surpass any that have come before it. he says the suspension was made "in-house" .. yet the shock absorber says Bilstein ....
-
fuck this guy to stupid talk about the electrical not the normal stuff
-
Excessive use of superlatives, totally uncalled for,but each to his oppinion ı guess.Keep up the good work.

There are some fluff/non useful words in there. Also, the brakes are huge because the car weighs close to 5000 lbs unladen. I like Teslas and what they are doing for the environment. Sigh, I could write a better script. I'm getting the feeling the vp never wrenched on a car before, lol! Not hating, these are my observations. After all, I'm looking forward to buying the model X!

Now that you guys are all open source. Would you mind doing an in depth explanation of the Power Train and Battery conductance system? Would love to see more! Great job thus far.

Hit like if you think he looks like Tom Hanks.

It's impressive in complexity to engineer such a car for production but it fails greatly to impress in the weight department. All the claims of light weight strength have to be erroneous since it's just about the heaviest car in the world in its class.
Granted Model S is very large but that's a failure in itself. About the same size as an Audi A8 and that's totally uncalled for. -
When are we going to see why they are so likely to catch fire?
-
This video kinda tell me that if something break in a model S it WILL cost a lot :S
-
Slight overuse of the word unique..but the car is amazing..
-
Those bare iron rotor hub/hat sections will rust quickly. That won't look good....
-
no because the drive wheels wear faster then the front ones
-
bunc'a hot air this guy is.
-
gotta love this guy! he's so enthusiastic!
-
@DarthNefatious I know they wear, but will they wear evenly because it's balanced.
-
Does this mean you don't need to rotate your tires because the car is so balanced?
