Tightening up the tracks on the dozer

With how much you use that grease gun, do have a big problem with the female fitting on the gun going bad??
-
I just did that today. On a D41E-6. I like to clean my tracks at the end of the work day.

Hey man thanks for the video, nice to see how everyone else kind of keeps up with their equipment, you should consider digging your rollers out once they start getting dirt around them like that. that causes a lot of wear also, plus they can start skipping if you happen to pick up more dirt as your working. Never sure how much to put in lol, either not enough or just to much. Someone tightened them once they felt like the track was going to explode when you turned.

**pump style grease gun???

Whats wrong with regular pump stylegrease

yeah, I only do the string if the head of the work shop is they, other then that, I eyeball it to. I run my tracks a little looser then that normally. Good video, keep them coming

Since i'm the about the only one in our company that greases our machines i asked if could get this type of a grease gun from my boss. He asked for prices and was told that these are just crap that don't work, waiste of money. You said LINCOLN, is this the only one that works or?

Just last year i had to replace the tracks on a Komatsu and i had the tighten the tracks by hand with a greese gun. That sucked, but i bought a new craftsman auto greese gun!

It is just a nice feeling to be sitting here with a cup of hot coffee and watching Chris out there in the cold wind making these videos for the rest of us. I appreciate it.
-
great vid chris very iformative keep it up
-
the tracks are 25" wide. perfect for me as you can go in some wet areas and grade slopes but still work on hard ground decent. I ripper would be nice some times but the purpose of a LGP dozer is not to work on rock hard ground lol
-
yes thats how it works
-
you should but I dont know how to do that so I just eyeball it. I know about what it should look like. You will know if the track it to tight it will make a horrible noise
-
I have to string my track and work the numbers out, its a D6R, don't u have to on the komatsu?
-
I think it is a 2008 and last time I was in it had around 1050 hrs on and that was about 2 weeks ago.
