Machines | Starting and Driving a John Deere 450C Bulldozer
videos | at work | information | view | construction
I had some work to do on our driveway. I needed to move the drainage from the middle of the road over to the side and re-build the area we drive on. So I finally had the chance to use our newly rebuilt bulldozer.

So there's no acceleration pedal?

You should let it warm up for about 5 minutes before running it. Especially in cold weather

Putting a 450D back into working condition and trying to locate a wiring diagram, have you any leads as to where to source this info? We are running low on cash for the project and I am at my wits end trying to get a simple PDF of the layout. The basic harness is there but changes were made making it difficult. Nice job you have done there. Looks factory fresh :-)

You're lucky to have your dad , did you watch the youtube video of the 450 B I bought with the bad steering clutch
it's (1970 John Deere 450B Loader) take a look if you have time. -
If you would like to see the 450 B I had you can view it on youtube (1970 John Deere 450B Loader).
by Seth Fenby he sold it to me knowing the clutch was bad, he's located in Pa. so I was unable to check it out
I took his word that all was good, I know, dumb on my part. -
Man you did get lucky with the steering clutches, I know you have a good idea what is involved in changing them.
If a guy was to have it done by a dealer your looking at $5000.00 dollars at least. I had a JD 450 B with the right steering clutch going out, and that was the quote I was given by my local John Deere Dealer in Springfield Mo.
I ending up trading the machine to a fellow with a 350 B , it don't have the power of the 450 but it steers good.
My next JD dozer will have a wet steering clutch, don't your 450 C have this feature ? -
Very nice paint job. The engine sounds good but I'm hearing something like a low tone rattle, may be because you don't
have everything put together, just my 2 cents . I can tell by the fluids and overall condition that this machine has been well maintained over the years. -
Nice.

Nice Vid but the only thing I would change is that they don't have a clutch pedal it is call a inching pedal for when you are working up close to thing you don't want to run in to but still a great Vid let's see more.
