Machines | Slow Motion Antique Engines (TULARE, CA)
videos | at work | information | view | construction
So far I have had a few guys from this show find my videos and comment about them. Usually I film stuff and never know if anyone from whatever I filmed, ever watched my videos. A large variety of antique engines, most are "hit and miss" types filmed at the Antique Farm Equipment show in Tulare, CA in 2012. You can see the variety of different mechanisms companies used to regulate the speed. Most used some sort of centrifugal device connected to gears and cams to "unload" the engine while it is as speed. I mostly used the "30-300" mode of the camera where I can switch from real-time to 300 fps on the fly. You can see I tried several times to get in a good position to film any smoke rings from the exhaust stacks but I never could get a good angle, where I would have to be laying on my back directly under the engine. I had to stay behind the ropes. - Music by Zero-Project "The Past Ages of Glory" http://www.jamendo.com/en/list/a82079/fairytale-2-the-orchestral-expansion - Camera: Casio EXF1 Pro

Why are there balls swinging around inside that first thing?

I showed this video to some farmers around here that I know ( they like to all gather at the local gas station in the morning for some reason ) with my phone. They enjoyed it quite a bit.

MAUS! This is awesome! LOVE the transitions from "memory" time to real-time. LOVE the "old projector screen" look of the vid. LOVE the "heroic" music.Hey, were you intentionally transitioning to b & w at 2:54? Kept hoping you would do a transition from "sepia" mode to modern color but the ENDING was just fabulous: "real-time" sounds & color. WOW! I give this a "2-thumbs up" as great family entertainment. Yes, I know this is VERY time-consuming but I hope you'll do more. GREAT promo for the show!

Wow... that song, and title, is so fitting then, as that truly is what inspired me. Amazing. And, of course, you're welcome. But, thank you.

This was awesome. Liked it much more than I thought I would. You should record the drive wheel of a car doin a burnout. That'd be cool to watch something so full of action in slow motion.

What an inspiration to see these old machines at work. The music you add makes me think of how the future is made, or led up to, step-by-step, as humankind will most likely go into space and start colonizing. Thanks for sharing this video. May I ask the name of the music?
