I wanna thank u for your knowledge. I just got hired on to the nydot and I've had a CDL for 13+ yrs but the company I worked for had automatics or rented penske 6speeds. so know I'm thrown into the last standard they have being bottom man and it's got me all screwed up. but I'm using your advice around the work yard and it's helping tremendously. thank you sir

Interesting...ill try that tomorrow...im new n working on my floating. We have two 10 speeds and a 13 speed where i work but i drive a 10 speed most of the time

if you can, go to a private vi-tech school to avoid a contract with mega Carriers. after school you will have to drive for one with No contract. do 6 months then shop around. Most of the mega carrier schools are seriously sub-par.

This helps alot. I'm studying for my cdl (refusing to go to a trucking school even though 90%of the companies want you to go or be locked in contract with them for 1-2 years to get a cdl)... Learning a little about each tranny so if i get stuck wth a 10, 13, or 18 speed for my road test ill have some sort of clue when to shift
