how do you know when to downshift? at what mph or rpms do you know when to downshift?
-
Those transmissions are junk unless you're just hauling two or three tons. Too much change between gears for the little engines they bolt to them.
-
what a dipwad tailgating, and driving with your horn. They don't know how to drive over there
-
I drive a 5 speed 3800 sometimes. Man do I wish I had a 6 or 7 speed.
1st is granny low, wich can be nice
Except for it basically becomes a 4 speed then and the gears are waaaaay too far apart. -
How's it going man, i drive that same truck at work. Does ur truck stall out when parked in neutral. For some reason when i hit the park brake and go to neutral the engine dies before i can even turn it off.
-
Why all the double and single clutching man,,, Shit. I don't use any clutch. Float the gears....

Great video!

What year is your 4700 ? Iam planning on getting a 2001 4700 with a sleeper and hydraulic brakes

@depg1979 SANDALS MOBAY TO CPJ FREEPORT
-
Where's that at?
-
@txstreetman Yup for real. It was badly damage damage hence the rattling sound. the entire transmission was replaced though.
-
3rd gear sounds like it's a bit worn out...
-
haha your not kidding ... seems like alot of work to me
-
It's Jamaica? that's cool. It looked similar. Thanks for the correction man :)
-
This is in JAMAICA...Since jamaica is was a colony of England..We drive on the left. But since most of our trucks are imported from the US, we have left hand drive trucks driving on the left.
-
Which of the Virgin Islands are y'all from? (I ask due to the fact that right hand drive vehicles are driven on the left side of the road when i went to St. Thommas last summer on a cruise)
-
Float that thing
-
@nachoninja77 Thanks...Runs really good for sure...Runs almost like a heavy duty tranny to me :)
-
to the driver of the 2004 truck, you probably couldn't drive the truck shown, the good old days trucks had gated gears, used to take me a whole day to drive them properley. times i had to stop and start all over again. the men went up the road, left truck and walked back, refusing to drive it. My truck has an eaton twin spitter, you probably couldn't drive that either So remember DOUBLE DECLUTCH. No damage done to gearbox smooth shift or don't use clutch except for pulling away from standstill
