The traumata of warfare were certainly nothing new when World War 1 broke out. Soldiers who were perfectly fine on the outside, were incapable of fighting or living a normal life anymore. » HOW CAN I SUPPORT YOUR CHANNEL? subbed very nice work
-
in my experience the part on artillery is true . the 8 inch , 175 mm and 7 charges of 105 and 155 mm guns in the vietnam war hurt me to the point of lack of coordination and concentration . this happened in country after 6 months . Maybe the ambushes and other attacks helped . I was lucky tho. I can still read and write.

Wait, why are they wearing thongs?

2:32 But, war is a man made disaster.
-
What a terrible situation...
-
I wonder how the Ottomans and the Austria Hungarian empire approached this issue? Any idea ?
That said, I want to thank you for making this very gripping set of presentations on WW1. -
What were the terms of peace on the eastern front for the Germans and Russians? or whatever parties involved I left out
-
playing battlefield 1 led me here and I stay because your channel is amazing. I always loved ww2 and learning about it however I think ww1 is my new chapter of study.
thank you -
Was it a permanent illnes or can it be fully cured with treatment?
-
I dont like that number for officers. Of course there would be higher percentages as there were less officers than lower ranked soldiers. If the 10 out of 20 officers get shell shock and 100 out of 500 soldiers get it then that's a difference of 50% vs 20%. So is there a significance here?
-
If only those soldiers had weed.

That link gives a rough auditory idea of what "drumfire" would sound like. While that clip lasts only 5 minutes, drumfire barrages could last for days prior to an infantry attack. Imagine that, multiplied by day, with actual explosions happening. Our great grandparents were absolutely remarkable human beings -
"In Russia they were quite forward thinking"
Don't here that everyday. -
