The Sandhills Antique Farm Equipment Club 2015 spring show was held at Sandhills Farm Park in Lillington, North Carolina on March 20 and 21st. Demonstrations of restored antique equipment included a thrashing machine, hay baler, silage cutter --blower, hammer mill, saw mill, a saw for cutting tobacco sticks, that were used to hang tobacco in the barn, and the sticks were given to visitors as walking sticks, a saw for cutting slabs of wood for use in the old fashion wood burning stoves, a history lesson/demonstration of how turpentine, pitch and tar was harvested from the long leaf pine tree in the 1700 -- 1800's; antique tractors, cars and trucks.
