In 1988 the Melbourne company Machine Dynamics commissioned a door assembly line for the new Ford EA Falcon. Able to produce a door every 30 seconds, and importantly change door types in minutes, the line was in production for many years. The line utilised 13 Asea (Now ABB) spot weld robots and 13 of Machine Dynamics Journeyman gantry robot and controller. A number of the engineering team from Machine Dynamics are now with Andrew Donald Design Engineering (ADDE). Andrew was the Engineering Manager at Machine Dynamics.
