When I was in the marines I was taught way different they made us watch a video before we even went to field then the instructer taught us to hold the rifle then made us aim the sight for fifteen min and made us fake fire the rifle not dry fire but pretend then we was able to shoot but that was in 2006

First off have never heard of a straight pull AR. I know older rifles like a Kreg used straight pull, but did not know of an AR version. First off just as with the older straight pull rifles, the round is well down range before you can react. It may change point of aim, if you move your body much when you cycle the rifle. I suggest you make the least movement possible and make the same movement everytime. Glad to hear someone across the pond still takes marksmanship seriously. Semper Fi

Do you train civilians in marksmanship? I've been wanting to find a way to learn marksmanship and sniping skills without joining the military (since I'll most likely be DQ'd). LE is another thing, but I'm struggling with that one.

When you use just the tip of your finger, you will pull the weapon off it's natural point of aim. They teach to put it where it feels the best. I normally teach it to be just out from the first joint crease on the trigger finger, as that allows a straight trigger pull with the finger with out squeezing the hand, or pulling the weapon off natural point of aim.

No, what the bundeswehr does is out dated. That was taught 100 years ago, now every sniper and every marksman should be taught to fire at the natural pause when you let the air out of your lungs. I was a PMI (Primary Marksmanship Instructor) in the Marine Corps.

at 3:30 mins watch the brass, it lands 4 inches away from the breach. ?? What kind of round is that? Blank? LOL My brass fly 6 feet, so does everyone elses........

Their idea of trigger placement is wrong. You should ALWAYS use the tip of your finger when pulling the trigger. Other than that it was a good video.
