Perhaps someone with industry knowledge could answer this question:
Why would you abandon a piece of equipment? Even if you factor in the cost of dismantling there should be enough scrap value in the steel plus cannibalizing any standardized parts to make it economically a plus endeavor. -
I never will understand how equipment just gets forgotten & abandoned. You'd think this would've shown up on somebody's inventory and budget in big bold red numbers!

I love it; "try to get it home without the wife finding out". And then you hear her soft voice; "What the hell you gonna do with that?". Women; they just don't understand us. The guy who dies with the most toys wins.

I know I'm 3 years late but I'm also in Olympia. If you put it on craigslist you'd get a very healthy sum for it if you cleaned it up a bit, that or you could take it to shutter metals for scrap as a last ditch option.

What did they say the maker name was around 2:45
-
Old guy "The hell is it" and "They just left it here' LOL
-
pull it out if it works sell it to someone who can use it. If not scrap it and make a few quick bucks
-
Take it to a scrap yard and demolish it.
-
about the wife, you got to Take Her OUT...........to a movie that is lol

I noticed one of the workers wearing gauntlet cuff gloves. Until you get to experience the terror of having a limb hook into one of those as a log passes by while being drug or pulled into a chipper, then you won't truly appreciate this advice, but....throw those out by the splitting mall and get something with a tight cuff !

May have been used by a 983 or even a wheel loader 980 size.

At the start you should have put the chain down low around the end near camera, that would have swung it around and you could drag it out on it's back.
