Machines | Republic Services Manual Trash in Seal Beach - Part 2
videos | at work | information | view | construction
Last year, I posted a video showing how this strip of beach rentals in Seal Beach receives twice per week manual trash collection, unlike the rest of the city. But larger apartment buildings can also opt in to using a commercial bin instead. This is part 2 of 3, which includes mostly customer provided carts purchased from retail stores. There's a few Republic ones as well, so either way, any of you who enjoy manual collection with carts will like this vid (I think). At the time this was filmed, everything was recycled. This load was taken to CR Transfer (CR&R) for sorting. The crew later began dumping at Rainbow Transfer & Recycling five days a week due to them being a Republic company. Rainbow no longer sorts through regular trash, so none of this material gets recycled anymore, as of today. Giving even more reason for the Long Beach yard to streamline the collection process. The best way would be to automate the route, and change the collection days to Tuesday & Friday. That way, Javier & James can add this strip to their existing Tuesday & Friday routes in the City, which are already automated using this same truck with tippers mounted on a front load bucket. One more to come after this one, so keep a lookout. Comment, rate and enjoy the show. Thanks to the drivers! Nice video Tristen! I find it funny how they use a dumpster instead a carry can lol. I always love watching these old Consolidated Disposal trucks, the McNelius trucks especially this one are fun to listen too. How many WXLLs do they have? Too bad most of the material doesn't get recycled anymore. Great job!

Nice, pretty cool that still particular area still uses manual collection despite other alleys in the city are automated. Also, do you know why Rainbow stopped sorting trash at their mrf?
