Where did you find the bearings and seal? Part numbers?

Useful information for tearing it apart, but the problem with mine turned out to be the spider on the back of the tub. Corrosion ate it thin and then it cracked. Looks like a common problem. Do you have a cost effective repair for that? The tub assemblies (which is the only way to get the spider) costs in the neighborhood of $400, plus shipping. I'm wondering if some machine shop could "manufacture" a replacement.

can anyone tell me does the drum on a whirlpool 1200 come apart or do I have to buy a new drum

I have a question. I have the Whirlpool duet the rear tub support has died, it cracked across two arms, I cant seem to find the part for my model (wfw8300sw03) and was wondering if the same part from a Kenmore HE3 would work?
Looking on Searspartsdirect.com it tells me that part 27 for the Whirlpool (part#8540457) is no longer available. Would part# 4434er003c for the HE3 work or are they physically different in size? -
I can see that the metal support springs are starting to tear through the plastic eye hole on the drum. Is there any way to prevent this? Maybe a metal ring insert of some kind?

Thank you very much I really needed this! Can you tell me what kind of gloves you prefer when working on appliances? I seem to always cut my hands but most loves I just can't work with them on no feeling. Also could you please tell me what spray lube you recommend for the bearing installation. Thanks again for the amazing video have a wonderful week.

Jerrod - Just completed my bearing replacements and running the ops test. Everything is looking great. Thanks for the video. I did the job just like you showed and it was awesome. The only mistakes I made were busting off a couple of tabs on the shocks so bought a couple used to fix that. Also forgot to get the water distribution nozzle through the boot so initial test got a bit of water but got that adjusted correctly. Everything is working very smoothly and thanks again to Gabe for the great video production work. You saved me buying a new washer which is a tough additional purchase around the holidays. Thanks and looking forward to more videos from you all in the future. Best regards,James

HELP. I NEED THE RETAINING CLIP OR SNAP RING THAT HOLDS THE BEARING IN
-
With the amount of time it takes for first-timers to complete this project, they are better off using that time to generate some cash to either pay someone like the guy in this video to complete it, or just buy another friggen washer. This video is only 15 mins, but you must realize this project takes at least 3-5 hours for the first-timer to complete (hopefully it's done right) + the time needed for gathering the parts. Don't spend $2000 of your time and attention to "save" $500 of your money. It's behaviors like this that keep people (AND their washers) broke.

Jerrod, I have replaced my bearings in my washer and the first time I did, I missed a small ring of the old bearing in there. So, I replaced the bearings again since it caused one to go out, but now the inner tub moves back and forth. The spider seems to be in good shape. Could I have bent the shaft when setting it down to push the tub out of the bearings? I'm gonna get a level and measure from the outside to see if it's perfectly center this evening but it doesn't seem like that would cause the tub to be able to be jiggled back and forth. Any suggestions?

Hay man I got the same washer but are support spider I think that's what called broke do you know where I can get one

I purchased your bearing kit and replaced them about 6 months ago. Everything worked great for about 6 months until it started making noises again. I took the washer apart again and the bearings are literally absolutely destroyed. Are these cheap bearing sets that other videos on the subject recommend to avoid? Shouldn't I expect to get more than 6 months use from the set you sell?

Hi Jarod. I watched the video and disassembled my whirlpool Duet washer (model# GHW9150PW1) and found it's the basket support (or the "spider bracket") that is broken. I went to the Whirlpool website and they only sell the basket with the bracket for $411 +tax and shipping. Do you have a source to buy just the bracket from or is this my only option? Also just wonder if its just being naïve not to do the bearing while I have the machine apart? (although upon inspection they seem perfect). What are your thoughts? My machine is about 10 years old now.
