Three companies ACI, Janata Engineering and The Metal ( Pvt.) Ltd. demonstrated their imported reaper in the FFD arranged by USAID funded Rice Value Chain (RVC) Project of IRRI and CSISA-MI project, CIMMYT of Jessore hub in Jhenaidah. CSISA-MI is giving more priority about power tiller mounted reaper as it costs only 45 thousand taka which is more affordable for the LSPs who have already power tiller . In case of ACI and Metal's imported reaper the cost is around 1,70,000 taka. There is 30% govt. subsidy. Now the reaper is getting popularity as the labour cost is hiking up as well as there is also labour crisis in pick period of harvesting. Rice harvesting by reaper -it seems agriculture of Bangladesh is moving towards fully mechanization indeed.
