Machines | Race Car Aerodynamics - Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3
videos | at work | information | view | construction
Aerodynamics play a critical role in racing. On this Nissan GT-R, we'll check out all of the aero bits that help this car go around the track as fast as possible. From the splitter, dive planes, and hood vents, to the side vents, diffuser, and rear wing, I'll cover it all! This vehicle can produce up to 1,000 kg of downforce at 200 km/h! I have a question. I recently bought a APR performance universal spoiler for my GT-R, but I have no idea how to adjust the angle. Am I supposed to try different angles on track to decide a angle or there is a technically right angle of spoiler? Please reply me EE! : )
-
one important feature you didn't mention is the "Gurney flap" and perhaps why the sides of the rear wing are there. other than that, i like your vids
-
I have question... How do you make a GT3 Car
-
Very cool, very informative, great works as always, EE
-
Thats one hell of a machine
-
Could you do a episode on Canards, and how they work?
-
from home garage to racing garage thumb up

That was awesome. everything is so aero!
-
cant you lower the side skirts to help prevent turbulence under the body
-
I can't believe that there's a driver who needs hood vents on such a machine to keep themselves look cool!
-
how effect are front lips and canards on street cars? rice or functional? assuming the car will not pass 150kmph
-
The one things I'm wondering now is if there is a certain ratio or optimum size for a diffuser. I can imagine that to much turbulent air at the front of the car might negatively effect top speed or acceleration. SO one would think that there must be some kind of size to effectiveness ratio for front splitters.
Am I wrong in saying this, or am I on the right track but just not educated enough in the field of engineering to adequately explain it? -
I almost think its green screen

Why is it difficult drive a car with a high Down force?? Even though downfroce is known to affect the vehicle stability in a positive way
-
amazing video as always :D
so if the car is producing up to 1,000 kg of downforce, the suspension has to be extra stiff so it wouldn't collapse under that weight? -
What is that red ring on the front bumper for? Is it to tow the car in case something went wrong? Is it for something in the engine bay?
-
I have a questión ... why the chassis is plane as a f1 ? what is its function ? sorry for my english
