Machines | Problem With My New Vax Dual Power Total Carpet Washer W86-DP-T
videos | at work | information | view | construction
Although this problem has affected only a batch of machines, be aware if you are thinking of buying any Vax Dual Power carpet washer. Vax tell me that current models should be OK and the replacement I received does have an additional metal pin fitted on the offending part. Also if you are watching from the U.S. this model is almost identical to the Hoover Dual Power and Hoover Power Path cleaners. I will be uploading a full demonstration video soon showing how the cleaner performs on carpets and using the supplied stretch hose for stair and upholstery cleaning. Thanks to Vax customer service for sorting this matter out quickly.

Probably used this VAX carpet cleaner (model W86 DP R) maybe 2 hours total. Agree that while it worked it was an excellent cleaner. However my machine has developed the same fault. Tried to find this part online but it seems it's not available. Will be calling the VAX helpline to get a way ahead. Definitely a design fault and I can't believe they don't know about it. Will find out soon enough.

I hope mine carries on working i Love the lightness of the whole thing,

The US version of this is called the Hoover PowerPath (Both made by TTI). If you look at the link - its from Target, and the early reviews from March 2014 all mention this problem. Later models from April all seem to be OK according to the reviewers:

Vax have been in touch and will be sending me a replacement for my faulty model. I have been assured that this problem was from a faulty batch and new machines do not have this problem. As soon as I get a replacement I will be uploading a full review and hopefully my new cleaner will not suffer the same fate. To their credit, Vax have been far more helpful than the retailer to sort this problem.

Oh Roger, your luck has been crap lately, hope you get it resolved quickly.

I'll not be buying any more Vax machines after seeing this. Enough is enough. I've had my fair share of problems with Vax machines as well. Its all very well a product being cheap - but its only a bargain if it actually works properly. Made in China - it says it all. Look at the quality of Miele and Sebo who make their stuff In Germany, and compare it to Vax's stuff. And no, Miele and Sebo machines aren't that much more expensive and in some cases cheaper than Vax's machines.

Yet again another faulty product

Here's what I'd like to know. Who at Vax had the brilliant idea to use what looks to be a regular flat belt on something like this? Will all the stress that belt will be placed under it should be like Bissells with a cogged belt with nylon reinforcement so it doesn't stretch, slip, or break.

Doesnt look like hoovers and washers are working in your favour at the moment does it :/
