1. Dear Keith, Completely agree with you. From experience re-enacters, historians and collectors are some of the proudest and most law-abiding of all society, so this makes absolutely no sense. We have voted here many times on similar issues, despite constant challenges. I sincerely hope all of your subscribers who are able to vote there will all do so. Wow, what a lot of bureaucratic nonsense to deal with, we are griping here because our CITY council(Missoula Montana) just snuck thru a law that private sales/transfers of ALL firearms must go thru a federal firearms dealer (adding roughly $50 ) so now if I give my grand daughter another .22 I will have to pay $50 to have it done legally and have ANOTHER paper-trail, Lord have Mercy, these are bad days..... I wish you the best of luck my friend...

When people in government are allowed to restrict the very people they govern, only bad things result.  It seems anyone elected to public office quickly becomes an elitist who think he knows better than the general public.  The sad thing is that too many people are willing to live under the control of the government, willing to have rights taken away, willing to live on their knees.

Keith an unjust law is no law, I am in a state of unbelief that the people of Australia would even contemplate living under that sinister type of tyranny, unfortunately the tree of liberty and freedom can only be watered with the blood of patriots willing to stand against abusive and oppressive governments that wish to control every facet of our lives as if they alone are capable of doing what is in our best interest. Every time an unarmed victim is harmed it is these officials that I would hold responsible, and the punishment for rape robbing and murder demands justice at the end of a rope.You have no moral obligation to obey a law so bereft of common sense that it is in itself a crime and makes anyone that desires freedom a convict imprisoned in their homes and the country and community their ancestors bled and suffered to leave to their posterity, it is the darkest of all evils. If I only have one life and I will at some point die anyway, please Almighty God let me die fighting this filthy abuse of governmental benevolence. I would rather die once a free man than live forever as a slave.

9. you should be able to own and fire any firearm you want, no government should have the right to keep a person from owning any firearm.. that's the only side there is, that's called Tyranny..

15. I love America! I just put together a nice little AR-15 this evening can't wait to take it out tomorrow and do my first firing. The Barrel comes from a company called Sharps, maybe you've heard of them? They are making a new Cartridge 25-45. All I needed to do was replace the barrel on a AR-15 and Wallah. We have an election coming up in November that might put a gun hater in our White House. Our Constitution does not allow anyone to take away our right of forming a "Well Maintained Militia" We have a Right to Bear Arms in this Country as long as you have not committed any Felonies. The woman running for President now (Hilary Clinton) scares us Hunters to death. She could very easily say we don't need Semi-Automatic weapons and Revolvers leaving us with single shot Muzzle Loaders or single shot Shotguns. We don't allow the police or anyone to enter our homes without a warrant. There is no one knocking on my door telling me I need to check your weapons to make sure they are locked up. I pray this country never tries to take away our Constitutional Rights. Our most basic Right as a human being is Self Defense. No one will tell me how or where I have that right. 17. You could do more damage to more people with a knife. I would have loved to move to Australia someday but not if I can't protect my family without breaking the bank.
18. Sadly lack education on the part officials that makes for red tape. I see and hear of it wherever business and government cross paths. Oversight is one thing but putting people who no very very little on what they have oversight of or might have learned theory in school but no practical experience causes more harm than good.
