On the 3rd September, 2015, I travelled onboard 'The Cathedrals Express' from Rugby to Bristol Temple Meads, via the West Coast Mainline to WIllesden, and then using the freight lines to Acton to join the Great Western Mainline. Although, less than 24 hours before departure, our 'Steam Dreams' soon fell through, as the men equipped with rulers at Network Rail, deemed the Duchess out of gauge on the Great Western Mainline around Bath with 71 problems after major engineering works in the area, 17 of which, prohibited the Duchess to pass, 2 of the spots, including the bridges at either end of Bath station. Because of this, the Duchess was only able to do part of the 'Down' run, the Rugby to Southall Loop section, before moving light engine to the depot at Southall Loco Services Ltd. to have her fire disposed and put to rest. In this shortened video, we see the Duchess working parts of the Rugby to Southall leg, including the arrival into Rugby Platform 6, Long Buckby, Northampton stop, Milton Keynes stop, The Willesden lines and so on. I did not bother to film the 47 sections as I was in my seat for pretty much the rest of the trip.
