290 cummins is a basic 855 cummins.old but good running diesel engines
-
Gotta love air starters. They sound so cool.
-
People really love these dump truck videos
-
all you need to do is turn the screw on the fuel selinoid and it doesn't need battery's but you have to turn it back to shut it off did that with my 69 brockway
-
What you have is a 290 horsepower 855cubic inch engine. the 290 300 350 and 400's were all 855 CID engines, just different HP ratings by changing pump, heads, cam etc.
-
never knew there were such thing as pneumatic starters, learn somethin new every day

Had my 1710 Ford tractor fail to restart two weeks ago. Shut it down to clear the chaff out of the radiator screen while mowing. Wouldn't restart. Tried jumper cables, no-go. Bad cell in the battery. It has a mechanical fuel shut off so all it needed was to turn over.

Got to spray the either while cranking not after
-
so it doesn't need a battery
-
Why did you let it sit so long?
-
RTFM !

Awesome truck you got it's not like what I see on the way to work. I like the air starting doodle it has.
-
What a beauty, I would drive it to the church every sunday, and to the baker for the afternoon cake.
-
is it air started
-
"Well we finally got around to starting it" Don't put bullshit in the description if it's not true... It's not hard at all to be honest........
-
if the battery is dead you need to supply 12 volts to the fuel solenoid at the pump to make it run or turn the knob on the pump to manually open the fuel solenoid. neat old truck I remember working on those many years ago. so simple compared to todays electronic controlled garbage
-
turn the manual override valve on the fuel solenoid.
-
what for spray

if a diesel has stood you need to pump fuel up , my merc has stood 4 years and is a pig to start
