Machines | Old Farm Equipment Still Working. John Deere 3010 & New Holland 492 Haybine
videos | at work | information | view | construction
A closer look at these two.... I "Typo'ed" 692 in the video, its a 492 I really like running the 3010, a bit counter intuitive as it doesn't have all the "beat your chest" specs folks look for with legendary tractor brands. Its a bit big and heavy for the 55 or so HP the motor makes. BUT it rides nice in the field, has one finger power steering, and has two remotes. Oh yet, a three point. The things I need running my hey equipment without burning lots of fuel. That hydraulic swing on the haybine takes both a danger and a PITA out of closing up and moving to another field to then open up and mow...really slick.

Nice little look around the equipment - Thanks!

Reminds me of my dad's Massey Ferguson 1100. It had a turbo added to it so it was technically more powerful than the next size up, the 1130 because Massey Ferguson lowered the compression ratio on the 1130 because of the turbo. My uncle had a 1030 Case. All the other tractors were smaller. The next biggest tractor they had was my dad's John Deere R diesel, everything else was gas and smaller.

The old stuff stayed together a lot longer than the new style of engineering that's for sure.
