soooo why not just keep your car and take the money VW is going to give you and not let them touch your car... prob solved.

707hp Hellcat empty's a 18 .5 gallons fuel Tank in 12 minutes , this the type car which is 100% compliant with epa emissions
diesels capable of driving almost 1000 miles with one tank are really that pollutant ???
.
If 2.0L 4 cylinder are poluttents Dodge Ram 7.3L v8 Diesel is a weapon of Mass Destruction , -
I've got 2015 golf, I'll look at the gti, if anything....wait and see what happens
-
yeah you're over thinking this in my opinion... I have a 05 jetta and everyone said they have bad turbos... meanwhile 275k later she's still going strong
-
Everyone talks about the EPA... They state concerns about the environment... Lets be real, no one gives a rats ass about it... They care about MPG, getting "duped", and the "scandal". NO ONE CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BESIDES MONEY! The NOX is a standard, WE SET! Stop whining, you got the car you payed for... Don't lie and say you care about anything besides yourself.
P.S. The heater core has a warranty extension. Along with the High Pressure Pump... Hey GREAT IDEA! Research the car before you make the purchase... If you are unable to afford a diesels maintenance, buy a Honda. CLOWN!
Second note, brakes and tires wear according to driving habits, stop claiming victim and drive your damn car -
50k for brakes I have 83k on my 2013 Mitsubishi bought it new still no problems with the brakes

I'm disappointed in the amount they're trying to give me. All the articles said between 18,000-20,000 for my Jetta. But they're trying to only give me 3 grand less that for 2012 Jetta Premium. And to top things off its about to turn 100,000 miles and probably will before October because I'm headed off to college next month.

Just get a fucking Prius if you are so worried.
-
Fuck the epa

You read the TDI club forums too much. All you are doing is repeating what has been said. Don't need to listen to you while you drive around.
-
You probably need to sell or your head is going to explode over all the things you are concerned about. But if I was you I would wait and quit worrying. Its Ok if you drive a bunch of miles and get less back later - they are low cost miles at 50mpg. Wait for the fix to happen and see how much it reduces the car's power. If it is reported to be significant then sell. If not then there is no need to make costly modifications to your car. The real issue is that the DSG automatic is a major threat to being a long lasting VW. Since you selected a manual the car is close to new at 54K miles and can be expected to go much longer. If you sell you won't be able to replace it. VW no longer sells diesels in the US and is making it harder and harder to get a manual transmission in the US. Worrying about "only getting 40mph" in a sizable sedan shows that diesel is very important to you.

Your car can be fixed, my TDI beetle no way, no blue fluid, I don't think your mileage will be that bad.
-
Take the money and run.
-
Man, you are adding tires, brakes & heater core to the VW re-embursement? How's this related to the "TDi fix"?
Maybe you should also calculate the cost of washing the car? :P -
Are you gonna sell it back or fix it?
-
mechanics bill or new car payment? Witch do you want? Where and tar parts like brakes and tires. Filters next to nothing just change them. I will not buy some of the new Diesel cars or trucks because of the admissions things they add to them. EPA could better spend its promoting mass transit system.I could list more things than that.

Where do you get the by back values based on year and mileage? I have a 2010 sport wagon with 118k miles. For me, what is the buyback worth?
-
I have a 2012 Golf TDI with 82000 miles as of now, what amount may i expect if i proceed with buyback? Thanks in advance :)
-
Taking the buy back also..?

Yes, keep us posted!
