Should have dug it with a hand shovel,it would have been much more fun.LOL

I agree. At first I was dumping dirt in piles here and there and it just took to long. Then I started with the one big pile and it went alot faster. It was also alot easier to clean up when I was done. one of those things you learn as you go.

I used a rotary laser to get the correct elevation that I wanted. I had my wife walk in front of the bucket with the stick for the laser and I remove dirt as needed to get within a couple inches of the finished hieght overall. The foundation contractor took it from there.

Good job, you used what you had and there is no way you could done it for under a $130 dollars any other way.... Thumbs up !!!

looks like familiar work!

@PureN3WZ3ALAND This skidsteer is what I have to dig with so that is what I used. I don't have to pay for my time and renting something else would have meant more out of pocket cost. my total out of pocket cost was $100 for diesel and $20 for motor oil. I sure you probable do but I don't think I know of any excavators around here that will come out and dig a basement for less than $120.

woulda cost less using an excavator...

@Scoootter87 It took about 35 hrs of digging. It's alot of time but for only 30 gallons of diesel fuel I saved a bunch of excavating cost.
