Did you use a floor jack to raised the track in order to set the two bucks on the wheels? Just assume that's how it goes. Nice, flip I must say.

how about changing that oil?

how about changing that oil?

If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay
-
When you have fuel in the crankcase the usual suspect is a bad needle and seat. Have seen this issue many times.
-
Around how much would you get after a basic fluff up?

I have the same one. It is a 2001. I bought it at Walmart. and needed a carb replacement in 2003 and then another one in 2005 no fault of my own they were recalled. in 2014 I had a problem with it not staying running. I put a new air filter, prefilter and a new gas cap and it ran just fine. everything else is from the factory including belts and tires. never had any other problems with the machine. just regular maintenance and it has been just fine. I finally replaced the original blades in 2012. every season I have the blades sharpened and never had a problem with them. so this time I went with mulching blades.

So I have a 16.5 MTD badged Agway. Its a 2000 model and I got it used for $150 but it seems like there is something wrong. When the belt is on the pulleys it refuses to start, but once I pulled the belt off the pulleys and just let it lay slack it starts right up first try. even when the deck is all the way up in the blade stop position the blades wanna turn on start up. I dont know what is wrong. I got a new belt but it looks like the mower deck needs to come off to put a new belt on. Anything else I should check as the cause for the blades wanting to spin on engine start?

I have one of these. It's a 17HP 42' shift on the go. I think it threw a belt. I can start it but it won't do anywhere and the left peddle that you normally push to run doesn't spring back. So can I tip it on its side to look at it or do I have to lift it up on two buckets like you did? Thank you very much, thanks for the video.

Yard Machine MTD, rider, 12.5 HP.
Quit in middle of mowing, electrical problem, turning key to start = nothing. Pushed it into garage and charged the battery, cleaned teminals, after an hour, started right up and mowed for about 20 minutes and same thing - stops dead, key won't start. Charged for 5 minutes - started up again.
What do you think? Charging system? -
Nice pick!

A man can never have too much power equipment. Sometimes I have over 20 units before the start of each Spring.

Here's another one for ya! I bought a one year old MTD black push mower off a local classified add for 10 bucks... they said it just quit runnin & local mower shop said it had to have a new carb, 100 bucks! so they were'nt putting the money in a 170 dollar mower. I took off the carb cleaned it... runs like a new one! needs a plug & oil change but the thing cleaned up like new! was gonna sell it but I think i'll keep it & use it for a trim mower. 6 push mowers & a rider isn't too much is it? LOL

Not really it was not wet.

I had the same thing one time. He said the kid overfilled it with oil now it does not turn over. He did not want it, I told him I could fix it quick for him, but he insisted on buying anther mower that I had sitting there.
