Machines | Millwright Apprentice program
videos | at work | information | view | construction
In the Millwright apprentice program, you will learn to take care of material handling equipment, automated systems and mechanical equipment. Millwrights (also known as Industrial Mechanics) install, maintain and repair industrial equipment, such as compressors, pumps and turbines. SAIT offers training in 30 registered trades. In Alberta, trades people learn their skills through a combination of working in the industry as an Apprentice under the supervision of a qualified Journeyman, and through technical training at SAIT.

Cheap companies require cheap repairs, costs them more money in the end. Oil, Mining, Forestry, hydro electric companies and major manufacturing all require high end mechanics to get the job done. I see kids coming out of school with very little skill set. Its nice to see countries like Canada allowing foreign companies to buy local resources up and then only employ foreign workers who speak chinese and work for next to nothing.

bottom line! machines break and need repair. Companies require qualified people to fix their broken machines so they can continue making money.
