Working at 3 Bears Media, we made a large series of videos in CD ROMs for the Education Dept and the Australian Industry Group, showing school-leavers various job opportunities in trades and technical areas. Blair Joscelyne and I travelled the country, each with a video camera, shooting, producing and editing these 'Day in the Life Of" stories about careers in Aerospace.

This is really misleading. Or maybe Maintenance engineer means something different where she's from. But she is not an engineer. She is a line maintenance mechanic. I would know because I've done that work, and I'm not a fan of that particular aspect of aviation.

Now what she described is absolutely right in regards to a line maintenance mechanic, but it has squat to do with engineering Aircraft. Engineers are the ones who are behind the scenes. Doing the calculations, testing, designing and drawing up Blueprints for Aircrafts, Aircraft parts, engines, etc.

However I would definitely recommend any engineer students or those looking to get into Aerospace engineering. To try to work under an apprentice and actual work on these Aircrafts for like 6 months to a year. You'll have hands on experience with what you'll be designing and how they are maintained and operate.
and if you work for Qantas they are a closed shop full of nepotistism and cronyism.
where the academy that prefer for aircraft engineering course?? someone please give your opinion....
hey, we are working on something that could ease the work load on maintenance engineers. could you please help us with more info? we got few doubts. :)
