So really the bulldozers and diggers are just at the start of a project followed by tens of years of natural production ? I see no problem with this ..

It seems that so many carefully chosen words are needed for people to consider the result. Everyone wants you to give the illusion that there is a magic pill and it costs one dollar and yields billions of dollars, Yet the reality is if we start somewhere and make one percent change per week in one hundred weeks its perfect then that would be worth the starting.
My wife and I bought a property badly covered in Lantana and steep, for over 30 years the previous family has battled and lost to the shear scale of the job in front of them and this in no way diminishes there efforts but they never broke its back and got the water under control even though they tried many times. The Lantana then got out of control and with the steepness of the Country they simply lost it.
So I drew a line in the sand on purchase of the property and rented a 35 ton Excavator which is one of my professional Jobs in the past and spent 7 days taking control of water, land clearing for management, the dams were all broken so I repaired each one of those and then I cleared up the Lantana, with the last one to be cutting in Swales to now sink the water, and these were all lessons learned from You Geoff, So I Dream of a food forest without Chemicals in our food and a endless supply of growth both Physically and mentally in Sustainable practices. But it is no good fighting a battle that you cannot get a foot hold in when there are to many things broken. Everyone would love to use a little pocket knife to manage 20 acres but the reality is the tools only reflect the size of the issue that confronts you, its not a good idea to Have high principals on a battle you cannot win, once the management practices are in place then management will be easy but it will still require management as Lantana does not quit. Thanks for the Inspiration and all the amazing lessons as we want to include our community into food production and meaningful community interaction with food and Horses.
