Have you ever thought about civil/environmental engineering? Your video talks a lot about explaining things in natural science. Thanks for the videos!

I'm not sure if you still check these but this is a question for any engineer out there. I am 40 years old and recently started back in college. I spent about a decade in CNC and Manual Machining and Manufacturing and another decade in a management position at FedEx. My question is, would a 45 year old new graduate, with my background, be competitive in the engineering industry currently?

Hi, I'm currently a senior who is looking for a major to apply for. I'm interested in designing products, but industrial design seems too art heavy for me. Should I be looking to get a mechanical engineering?
-
to all those considering a mech engineering degree BEWARE . the market need is for high EXPERIENCE engineers. even with my ME degree and EIT certification I can't find a job out of college. just a warning, don't let the glamour fool you. If I could do it over I would probably be a programmer, they are in high demand.
I wouldn't take these videos too seriously, his character speaks for himself. This is his truth, not the truth of the entire world of engineering. This guy just barely grazed the surface and only complains how everything isn't spectacular and intriguing like he first thought. Everything takes commitment and effort.
If you can't handle the work, LEAVE. If you're passionate about the art of engineering, grind through the work and put your heart into it. We don't need anymore half-assed workers only dragging the industry down even more.
