This video captures the design and manufacturing process of the capstone project for a group of fourth year mechanical engineering students at the University of Victoria. The project entails developing a 1-axis camera stabilization system for a UAV in flight with an ability for the system to initiate photos, and the ability to track and store aircraft attitude, GPS location, and time. The Teensy 3.1 microcontroller was used in conjunction with the Arduino IDE to develop the camera control and data acquisition system.
