Company History Midland Steel Traders Limited was incorporated as a steel stockholder by Ken Whitehall in 1963 in Walsall. After moving to the North East in 1966 the company began manufacturing undercarriages at Raine Engineering at Swalwell on the banks of the Tyne. Leaving Raine in 1971, the company opened a service centre in Washington, County Durham with a Bignozzi Track Press to service the local plant hire and civil engineering companies. MST was born and as a wholly owned family business has, over the years, proved its worth in supplying high quality products and service throughout the UK and the ever expanding World markets. The company today The company is still owned by the Whitehall family but has grown to include non family directors on the board and now employs over 90 staff across the UK. With three service centres in Durham, Glasgow, and Birmingham, 8 sales area engineers covering the UK and a 15 strong internal sales support team, MST maintains a strong nationwide coverage. This has resulted in MST being chosen to represent some of the world's leading manufacturers as UK authorised distributors. Combined with MST's sister company Hi Spec Manufacturing (HSM), that specialise in the manufacture of heavy duty mining and dredging buckets, MST Group has become a leading company offering the right product at the right quality to suit all applications.
