My car will run good for a little while and then start stalling and shuttng down. Could this sensor be getting hot and shutting it down? And I noticed when the air outside is cool it doesn't do it hardly.

How can some ECU's use the MAP sensor to synchronize (In place of a camshaft sensor)? What's the principle behind that idea?

My cavilers map sensor was totally fried I had major power loss and it spit and sputtered bad at idle thought my engine was blown or about to changed the map sensor and it all stopped and its run great its amazing how many problems these little things can cause
Expensive to 80.00 on my 14 year old caviler I would imagine there way more on a newer car.. -

How do I clean MAP sensor and would that help? I have no error code, but something is telling me it's either the TPS or MAP sensor. Also please make a video explaining why on earth my car has both MAP and MAF if it's possible to run the car just with MAP -)

what should the average psi be in an intake manifold? im reading about 4-5psi under idle. my cars vaccum seems to idle around 19-20psi which seems common, but im having really bad bucking and hesitation issues and not sure what it could be.

I am intrigued by your quip that some (fuel-injected, gasoline-powered) cars are designed to properly calculate fuel/air stoichiometry while not having a MAF... thanks to MAP. Indeed, I'm troubleshooting my 1999 Chevy Cavalier Z24 (2.4L engine) and I can't find a MAF under the hood, or in my Haynes manual 3-page engine controls wiring diagram. The MAP, IAT, etc. are all easy to find. This is a very clean car, too.
I thought MAF was fundamental, to proper calculation. Can you comment on how a mere MAP et al might provide enough information, to properly calculate appropriate stoichiometric ratio of fuel to air?
P.S. I'm an experienced electronics engineer, and occasional mechanic.
